The Winter Blues

Greetings! Well, this week has been a good week if you don't count this weekend. So fair we have made it through the winter season with not so much as a runny nose, but this weekend it hit, and hit hard. Everyone but mom, me is sick. Aaron has stated teething and actually has his top right tooth cutting through. To but it nicely, he hates it. Even when I put the teething jell on he only stops crying for about ten minutes and then starts up again, he is in so much pain. The poor little guy, I really wish there was something more that I could do for him, but I guess it is all something that we had to go through and we have all survived. As for you that are mothers may know, it still hurts to see your child in that much pain, and knowing there is nothing you can do only makes it worse. With the teething there as been fevers that come and go reach as high as 1o1 F.
Seth, well had has the wonderful "hands and foot" again mixed with a runny nose and throwing up. For those of you who don't know what hands and foot is, it's blisters or sores generally on you hands and feet, which hints at the name, but they are also found in the mouth and on the bum, which is where has has them. He doesn't sleep at night cause he can't breath through his nose and if he breaths through his mouth it gets all dry and make the sores in his mouth hurt worse. He just can't win, sadly enough there is nothing you can do for hands and foot other then wait it out, which usually lasts 5-7 days.
Emma, has a fever that comes and goes and also has been throwing up, she doesn't want to eat anything and I don't really blame her. Although when she does want to eat, it takes her over an hour and that is no strech of the truth. However, in stead of being really whinny or cranking, she has been extra happy or loving I should say. She just wants to give hugs and kisses, which is part of why it takes her so long to eat. She will eat a few bites and then has to given everyone a huge and kiss and tell them that she loves them, how can you get mad at that? I know I sure can't.
As for Jeff, well he was doing good until this afternoon. He came home from his church meetings and just felt horrible, he feels crumy and has a fever as well. I really hope that they all get better soon. I hate to see them all feeling so yucky. It has been a blessing that I have not had it, other wise who would take care of us all?
Well that has been the not so good part of this week, as for the good news we sold our car. Jeff and I have been thinking for a while that it was time to get a new car, simply because my little Honda that I bought just out of high school, is getting old and is way to tight for the family, doable, but not comfortably. Jeff's friend has a car with low millage and is asking within our price range, but we wanted to make sure we sold our car first so that we were not stuck with trying to insure all three cars, when there are only two that can drive. Sounds silly to me. So anyway we thought what the hay, lets try an ad on KSL and so we did, we posted it Tuesday night and by Thursday afternoon it was sold. I have to admit, it was a little hard to see the car go simply because it was my first car and I and strange and sentimental about things like that. Jeff as also had a lot of companies contact him about possible job opportunities which we are currently still looking into. All I can say, is that when the Lord closes a door, He always opens a window. In our case the window just happens to be bigger then the door and for that we are very grateful. Well, if I want any sleep, I better take advantage of the time now, cause at night I know I will be up with at least one of the kids. I hope that whom ever reads this, has a great day and remembers to look for at least one way that the Lord has blessed their life today, and pass it on to a friend. Until next week,
Love the Boonies.

I hope all is well in the Boonies again. How sad to all be sick (well, almost all.) And I'm glad to hear about the car. We haven't had any luck on KSL (we tried to sell Spencer's before moving so we could get a bigger vehicle. Good thing we are able to fit all three in our honda).

Ugh, I hate it when the family is sick! But I'm so glad you haven't gotten it yet (at least, I hope you did't get it - my comment is a little late in coming). It was fun to catch up again through your blog. What a beautiful family you have. And I love how optimistic you are, Bec! Thanks for being such a great example for me to follow, even miles and miles away. Love ya!
