Long time

I will be forever grateful to my brother for introducing me to Boston. They have been one of the funnest bands to listen to over the years, even though they have not put out anything new for years. Well, what to say what to say. I have no been released as Elders Quorum President, that happened today, and next week will be sustained as something else. The new calling will present many different challenges when compared to being an EQ President, but also many of the same ones. Things I have learned as EQ President:
  1. It is all about loving those you serve, and showing it in ways that the individual members understand. In the mission it was the same way but it the Lord opens people's hearts I think a little bit easier in the mission field when compared to ward members. The relationships take longer to develop, but they are deeper, more love filled.
  2. I don't know everything, nor can I do everything.
  3. The best way to help and to serve and to activate is to get into the homes. Lessons on Sunday unfortunately are not the best way to uplift those around you, even for "active" members. There is a certain spirit in the home that can be accessed that cannot be accessed at the church in a quorum meeting.
  4. The importance of being one as a presidency and quorum.
  5. How fun it is to watch brethren and their families progress in the gospel, including mine. I have seen 4 families go through total transformations in their approach to the gospel and church service. It has been fantastic to see the hand of the Lord in a many, many lives in our quorum here in the 13Th ward.
  6. And most importantly how much the Lord loves each and everyone of us. I began to feel this love and to see it too. The Lord cares for all of us more than I can imagine now. I love him and love of all you.
